Assoc. Prof. Sookjaroen Tangwongchai, M.D.

Assoc. Prof. Sookjaroen Tangwongchai, M.D., is a psychiatrist specializing in geriatric psychiatry, with more than 20 years of experience caring for patients with dementia. He earned his M.D. from Chulalongkorn University and completed specialist certification in Psychiatry from the Medical Council of Thailand. His international training includes a Diploma in Biomedical Research with an Epidemiology focus from University Paris V, a Master’s degree in Psychopharmacology from University Paris VI, and a DEA in Fundamental Psychopathology and Psychoanalysis from University Paris 7 – Denis Diderot, France. He also holds an approved subspecialty qualification in Geriatric Psychiatry from the Medical Council of Thailand. He has held leadership roles in psychiatric and dementia-related professional organizations.

His clinical and academic work focuses on dementia, cognitive impairment and neuropsychiatric conditions in older adults. His publications have addressed behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia, mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, delirium, cognitive assessment, biomarkers, and psychopharmacological treatments.
