Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital Signs MOU with Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, to Build a Green Hospital
(Green and Clean – Samitivej Hospital)

Adinun Kittiratanapaibool, M.D., Director of Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, to initiate a research project aimed at driving the development of a low-carbon hospital model and addressing climate change with the goal of carbon neutrality. The project will assess greenhouse gas emissions within the hospital and apply the acquired knowledge to transform it into a low-carbon hospital, capable of efficiently adapting to and mitigating the impacts of climate change.

Samitivej is progressing towards sustainability under the 'Green and Clean – Samitivej Hospital' initiative, committed to supporting the environmental aspects of the BDMS (Bangkok Dusit Medical Services) network. The goal is to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 (BDMS Net Zero 2050). This includes supporting the use of renewable energy throughout the supply chain. The hospital’s environmental operations, along with other BDMS businesses, focus on sustainable business development to create a low-carbon society, bringing benefits and value to the community while maintaining its leadership in healthcare services for well-being on the path to sustainability.
