Dengue Prevention Initiative: Samitivej Children's Hospital - Sukhumvit Campus Offers New Vaccine

Samitivej Children's Hospital - Sukhumvit Campus encourages the protection of children from dengue fever with a new vaccine, which helps prevent disease and reduces hospitalization rates.

Surangkana Techapaitoon, M.D., Deputy CEO of Samitivej and BNH Hospitals, and Director of Samitivej Children's Hospital, along with the hospital’s doctors and nurses, participated in the Dengue Zero Day campaign, emphasizing the importance of early care and prevention with the new dengue fever vaccine. This vaccine is highly effective in preventing all 4 serotypes, with up to 80.2% efficacy, and reducing hospitalization rates by 90.4% with just 2 shots, spaced 3 months apart. The vaccine can be administered to individuals from ages 4 to 60, regardless of their dengue fever history and without the need for blood tests. The vaccine is safe and helps reduce the number of dengue fever cases in Thailand.
