COVID-19 Safety Measures at Samitivej Hospital

Samitivej Hospital has always taken pride in maintaining a hygienic environment throughout our facilities. When the Ministry of Public Health outlined protocols for hygiene and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, Samitivej was ready to meet the challenge on Day 1. With input from our infectious disease specialists and our Quality Control Department, we were assured that our hospitals have met government standards. We are committed to maintaining a safe environment for our patients, staff and visitors no matter what future challenges we face.

People – Medical personnel and staff

  • Be vaccinated with a booster dose (dose #3).
  • Perform routine testing of Antigen Test Kits (ATKs)
  • Wear masks appropriate for the type of care they provide.
  • Wear disposable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suits in high-risk areas.
  • Use robots to deliver medication to out-patients.

Facilities

  • Special screening point at each entrance and exit area with infrared body temperature monitoring system. Hospital staff inspects everyone who enters to make sure they are wearing masks and supplies them with alcohol-based hand sanitiser gel. A shoe disinfection point uses a Natural Disinfectant that can kill germs, bacteria, fungi and viruses on various surfaces of the shoe. This innovative product is certified to international standards and listed in the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) book of Thai innovation.
  • Use COVID-19 era technologies, such as shoe disinfection devices, antibacterial and antiviral floor mats, antimicrobial pads to disinfect surfaces and handrails, and UV-C disinfection equipment (using a molecular process) capable of reducing germ rates by up to 99.9% in all outpatient rooms, inpatient rooms, operating theaters, and intensive care rooms.
  • Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces every 2 hours. Our UV-C lamps effectively kill viruses and bacteria on high contact surfaces such as escalator handrails, and have passed the sterilization standard tested by Intertek, a leading institute from England.
  • Erect partitions at all points of contact to increase distance and protect from respiratory tract infections.
  • Make hand sanitizer available at each entrance and at numerous locations throughout every building.
  • Locate our Acute Respiratory Infection clinic (ARI) outside the hospital building to distinguish high-risk patients from other patients.
