Infant and Pediatric Critical Care Transportation

Emergency medical transportation is extremely important, as it gives a team of medical specialists the chance to save the life of a patient with a catastrophic illness or in a crisis situation. In a medical emergency, when suitable treatment is not available locally, it is necessary to transport the patient as quickly as possible to an appropriate hospital. This is especially crucial for pediatric patients and babies who are not yet able to communicate properly. As a result, providing professional medical transportation requires specialized skills to deal with these specific age groups.

Medical transportation teams need to more closely observe and understand pediatric  patients who may not be able to express themselves clearly to medical staff. These cases often require a team of pediatric specialists and medical equipment specifically designed for children. In addition, providing support to family members is also important. When a child becomes sick, it takes a tremendous toll on the whole family. The medical team must inspire confidence and provide emotional support to the patient’s family.

Our services are defined by four core service areas:

  • Ground Ambulance

Nicknamed the “Speedy Bear” and decorated like a colorful cartoon, our emergency ambulance is designed specifically for pediatric patients. It helps ease children’s fears, gives parents peace of mind and reduces the stress levels of all parties. The ground ambulance is fully equipped with state-of-the-art medical devices to provide care for newborn babies and children of all ages. Medical teams consist of doctors, nurses and medical professionals who specialize in treating children. The ground ambulance provides medical transportation services in and around the Bangkok area.

  • Air Ambulance

Our air ambulance service is available for both domestic and international services. Helicopters are used for cases within 250 kilometers of Bangkok. Airplanes are used to provide convenient and rapid transportation for patients from more distant provinces and neighboring countries such as Vietnam, Bangladesh and China.

We provide a team of doctors and nurses who specialize in treating children and medical professionals with a specialty in aviation medicine (called a Flight Nurse) that has been trained to give medical assistance in the aircraft during an air evacuation. Ordinary medical equipment cannot be used for air evacuations due to the constant loud noise of the helicopter or airplane. Special medical devices and equipment are needed that not only provide efficient medical assistance but also do not interfere with the aircraft’s navigation equipment. Patient safety is paramount. After receiving information about a case, our team of medical professionals assesses the symptoms and the patient’s stability, and then determines whether air evacuation is suitable. If the air ambulance is deemed to be the best option, the medical team immediately contacts flight operations officers who evaluate weather conditions before takeoff. Working as a team enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of our air ambulance services

  •  Medical Escort

When the medical necessity and cost of a private air ambulance isn‘t necessary and the patient is ambulatory we can provide the assistance of a “medical escort.” Our medical crew will consult with the patient’s physicians then evaluate his/her medical condition as it relates to air travel and advice on the best method of transport.
