Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital Hosts Activities to Promote Health and Happiness for Seniors on International Day of Older Persons

Saran Intakul, M.D., Deputy Director of Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital, participated in the hospital's International Day of Older Persons event. The event featured risk assessment activities focusing on "Memory Loss, Falls, and Serious Illnesses." Highlights included an assessment for 7 future health risks, including atherosclerosis, cardiovascular diseases and macular vision impairment, using AI to observe retinal blood vessels through imaging. The event also provided gait, balance and weight-bearing analysis to help assess fall risks, as well as body fat and muscle mass analysis. In addition, intraocular pressure was measured to screen for glaucoma, and brain and muscle skill games were available to engage participants. A Health Talk titled "How to Stay Healthy and Live to 100" was delivered by Sawana Srirattanawong, M.D., a geriatrician.

Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital, an Age-Friendly Hospital committed to the health and happiness of seniors, is the first hospital outside the United States and Canada to have received Geriatrics Emergency Department Accreditation (GEDA) Silver Level accreditation from the American College of Emergency Physicians.
