Surangkana Techapaitoon, M.D., Deputy CEO of Samitivej and BNH Hospitals and Director of Samitivej Children’s Hospital, accepted the award at the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) 2021 for Samitivej Hospital’s efforts in the field of ‘Health Promotion’ through the Samitivej New Life Fund Project. The project, which focuses on making Samitivej an agile organization of value and promoting community spirit, underscores our philosophy that “we don’t want anyone to get sick.” By using our medical expertise to help the community, we have been able to help underprivileged child patients through 3 funds: The Samitivej Heart Fund, The Samitivej Bone Marrow Fund, and The Samitivej Scoliosis Fund. Together, these funds have supported us in providing healthcare to over 200 underprivileged children, giving them a new lease on life.

For the past 11 years, the Samitivej New Life Fund has become known on the international stage. The Samitivej New Life Fund has received international recognition from The American Chamber of Commerce Corporate Social Responsibility (AMCHAM CSR) Awards for 6 years running (2015–2020). Our recognition at the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards 2021 represents another proud moment for us. The award reflects an organization’s dedication to community, environment, and sustainable development, with contestants from 19 countries around the world.
