Samitivej Collaborates with the Sports Authority of Thailand to Launch a Special Medical Program Providing Care for Thai National Team Athletes

May 24, 2021 – Samitivej Hospital and the Sports Authority of Thailand have announced a special collaboration to provide medical care for Thai National Team athletes. Care will be provided by Samitivej Hospital’s team of doctors and specialist staff, with the aim of enhancing the physical and mental health and well-being of the athletes as they prepare for sporting events.

Adinun Kittiratanapaibool, M.D., Director of Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital, said “Samitivej’s commitment to help everyone stay healthy has led to the formation of a new program that applies our medical expertise to every dimension of healthcare for the country’s national team athletes. This allows for complete physical and mental efficiency and readiness for both training and competition. Athletes who are physically and mentally prepared inevitably achieve greater success in competition and, as a result, boost the pride and a positive reputation of the country. Samitivej is extremely proud to support the achievements of Thai National Team athletes.”

In addition, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people throughout the country are more concerned than ever about their health. This is especially true of athletes who may have concerns about contracting illness while they continue to train and prepare to travel abroad for sports competitions.

As a result of these “pain points,” Samitivej is providing the team with TytoCare, an innovative medical exam device that allows users to connect with a doctor online 24 hours a day—just like having a doctor make a house call. The system not only minimizes worries about illnesses but also saves time since the patients do not have to travel to the hospital. TytoCare allows users to measure their body temperature, measure their heart rate and listen to their lungs, and then send this information to the doctor via a secure online system for a more accurate diagnosis.
