Samitivej Updates Gastroscopy Innovations to Reduce Cancer Risk and Strengthens Thai Medical Expertise to Enhance Treatment Efficiency through Collaboration with Sano Hospital

Nisarat Jaidee, M.D.,  Assistant Hospital Director of Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital, along with the medical team from the Samitivej Liver and Digestive Institute, welcomed Mikio Fujita, M.D., a gastrointestinal specialist from Sano Hospital, and Tomohiro Tada, M.D., from Japan, to an academic seminar titled Inside Out: Optimized Gastroscopy. Leading GI specialists from Thailand, including Assoc. Prof. Varayu Prachayakul, M.D. and Assoc. Prof. Rapat Pittayanon, M.D., also participated.

The seminar, coupled with a hands-on workshop on endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), showcased the latest innovations in gastroscopy. This method, which avoids the need for open surgery, leaves no scars, promotes faster recovery, and offers early-stage cancer treatment to reduce recurrence rates. The technique enhances the efficiency of diagnosis, treatment and preventive care, addressing the disease before it has progressed.

The seminar was held on November 8, 2024, at the Bancha Lamsam Auditorium, Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital.
