Samitivej is highlighting its philosophy of 'we don't want anyone to get sick' at our "Age Friendly Run by Samitivej: Run Young, Stay Healthy" event. Anyone age 50+ is invited to run to showcase their power within, complete a fun running mission, and promote good health. The event includes a team of experienced doctors and nurses to care for participants along the route and create a safe environment standard for participants, marking the first time such an event will be held in Thailand. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the "Samitivej’s New Life Fund," so join us for a collective release of energy on Sunday, January 21, 2024.
Adinun Kittiratanapaibool, M.D., Director of Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital, remarked that Samitivej has always emphasized the importance of preparation for stepping into an aging society. However, Samitivej’s goal is not solely focused on treating the sick but also on creating a healthcare system that plays a role in promoting self-care and prevention. Under our philosophy of 'we don't want anyone to get sick', Samitivej Hospital has initiated the "Age Friendly Run by Samitivej: Run Young, Stay Healthy" event. This run is dedicated to health, with careful consideration given to ensuring all safety standards are in place. The event aims to establish a standard of care with a team of medical experts on hand to look after participants of all ages throughout the route. Participant safety is further ensured with the provision of 5 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and 4 ambulances. The focus of the event is on providing opportunities for everyone to exercise through running with the entire family, including older family members who are suited to shorter distance runs. The event will create a fun atmosphere with various activity stations along the route, encouraging participants to take breaks at regular intervals and enjoy themselves. In addition, the event will include various health partners being on hand to provide advice and knowledge to promote better health care. Above all else, all participants can be confident in the standards of care provided during the event.
The "Age Friendly Run by Samitivej: Run Young, Stay Healthy" event will take place on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Nong Bon Lake Park, Prawet, Bangkok. The event offers three distance options: 1km, 3km, and 5km. Primary applicants must be 50 years old or above, with the option of up to 4 co-applicants of any other age being able to join them. This event is considered the first of its kind in Thailand with the active 50+ age group able to run in safety, with strict care standards in place for all participants. Awaiting runners who are completing their own personal running mission, the 5 activity stations promise even more fun. The number of activity stations passed by each participant will depend on their personal running distance, and all runners will undergo a physical readiness test before the run using the Well by Samitivej application. If there are any health risks, free medical consultations will be provided by the hospital.
