
Samitivej Hospital has been approved by the Ministry of Public Health as an alternative hospital quarantine (AHQ) site for Thais and foreign nationals alike. This service extends to those travelling to Thailand for treatment purposes, whether it is for chronic health conditions and specialist surgical procedures, or for medical and wellness tourism, such as cosmetic surgery and fertility treatment. All patients will be tested for COVID-19, and must remain under observation for a minimum of 14 days even if the treatment is completed in a shorter time as per the criteria and guidelines prescribed by the Thai Government.
To ensure the safety of all incoming patients whilst in AHQ we have separate:

Recommended for medical treatments that require a patient be admitted to the hospital include Regenerative Medicine, Alternative Medicine, Cardiovascular Treatment, Musculoskeletal Treatment, Dental Treatment, IVF, Cancer Treatment, Disease with Surgery Conditions, Eye Treatment, Precision Medicine and NCD.
Protocol for AHQ in Samitivej Hospital
• Upon arrival in Bangkok, patient will be transferred and admitted to Samitivej Sukhumvit or Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital’s isolation ward.
• Only 1 entourage can share the room with the patient (except for ICU). In case, of more than one entourage; a single room each will be arranged for 15 days and 14 nights under the COVID-19 guideline of Ministry of Public Health of Thailand.
• Real-time PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) for COVID-19 must be performed upon arrival, between 5th-7th day and on the 14th day of AHQ.
• If COVID-19 test results are positive, treatment must be done at Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital or Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital.
• The patient has to follow the medical planned procedures by the treating physician’s discretion.
• Patients are allowed to leave the room for medical investigation and procedure.
• During the quarantine period, entourages (s) are not allowed to go outside the room.
• Fever and upper respiratory tract symptoms will be monitored twice a day.
• Even if the medical investigation and procedure can be completed sooner, patient and accompanying person(s) are strictly required to complete a 15-day AHQ.
