Samitivej Hospital takes home an award from the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards 2023 in the health promotion category for its "Happy Healthy Together" program, promoting the health of its employees by reducing their risk of heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, and cancer, because we don't want anyone to get sick

Surangkana Techapaitoon, M.D., Deputy CEO of Samitivej and BNH Hospitals and Director of Samitivej Children’s Hospital, together with Parit Plainkum, M.D., Ph.D., Assistant Director of Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital, represented the hospital in receiving a prestigious international award at the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) 2023 in the health promotion category for our "Happy Healthy Together" program, which aims to promote sustainable health among individuals throughout the organization. This program utilizes individual employee health records, a health risk assessment from the Oregon Health and Science University, U.S.A., and results from an annual health check-up to assess the future risk of disease. The program has led to health promotion initiatives based on individual nature, preferences, and behaviors, thereby reducing the chance of various diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and obesity, which contribute to non-communicable diseases (NCDs), in the future. The program has yielded positive results and has so far met the health criteria of a representative sample of employees, with employees showing normal blood pressure, weight reduction, and reduced risk of heart disease, thus helping reduce healthcare expenses for the organization. Moving forward, Samitivej Hospital aims to extend the program's collaboration with the Thai Health Promotion Foundation, thereby promoting the health of people across the country and highlighting our vision as an “Agile Organization of Value” with the philosophy of “we don't want anyone to get sick.” The awards ceremony took place on June 30, 2023.
